Assignment 6. Learning how to gauge sun and water.
This Week’s Goal: To get a sense of how frequently you need to water.
Step One. Observe how the sun shines on your urban garden growing area. Does he get too hot?
Step Two. Monitor your seed trays for a few days to see how frequently you need to water them. Will placing them in partial shade help in your situation? Will placing a rimmed baking sheet full of water underneath help?
Step Three. Monitor your vegetable containers for a few days to see how frequently you need to water them. Would placing them in partial shade help in your situation?
Homework for Assignment 6. So your assignment for this week is to write me in super short sentences and tell me:
1. How often do you need to water your seed trays?
2. Have you tried using partial shade? Have you tried using rimmed baking sheets with water?
3. How often do you need to water your vegetable containers?
4. Have you tried using partial shade?
3. Nonprofit Professional Development:
Time to use your notebook! Print out this homework sheet and jot down a few things that maybe you had trouble doing and that you will need to remember when you begin teaching your urban constituents. Punch holes in it and stick it in your notebook.
I look forward to seeing your ideas for Assignment 6 and I look forward to seeing you next week in Assignment 7
