Assignment Four: The Project Schedule
This week we will transfer the sub-goal, output and activity information into a detailed a project schedule.
The reason it’s important to have a series of parallel documents, is that different people in your organization will each be using documents different from each other, and it’s important that they are all working with parallel information.
So, we want the schedule to be an exact representation of the log frame.
There are two facets of creating the schedule:
1. Cutting and pasting the sub-goals, the outputs, and the activities into an Excel spreadsheet.
2. Drawing a bar chart.
Having a detailed schedule as shown in this week’s example allows us to make sure that we are going to be able to manage our project in a timely fashion, and be able to report our management capabilities to our donors.
This week will also be important because we can take our logframe, budget and schedule to show to a couple of colleagues in order to get their opinion prior to visiting a donor in two weeks.
The Assignment Four Homework will guide you the process.
